FAQ

Do you shoot in a studio setting?

No. I use natural light and either an outdoor location or if you prefer, in your usual workspace or cafe of your choice. The options with this is limitless - if you want to set the right creative scene for your brand and personal style, we will find the perfect place for your session.

Will you provide hair and makeup?

If you need a professional hair and/or makeup artist before OR for the duration of your session, I can provide this service for a small additional fee to cover the hair and/or makeup artist's time and expertise. I have some really fantastic hair and makeup artists available. If you would be interested in adding this service, please let me know during our pre-session consultation meeting.

Do you travel to areas outside of Andover?

Yes, I'm happy to travel to areas outside of Andover, SP11 6GR. The first 25miles will be included in your package fee. Any additional mileage will be charged at 45p per mile. For areas further afield, where it may be necessary to take trains/taxis/airplanes, the cost of the travel fares and/or accommodation will be added to your fee.

What happens when we have to shoot outdoors and the weather is bad?

Living in the UK, it is very likely that bad weather may prevent us from your outdoor session. I always recommend having 2 additional back-up dates just in case we need to postpone our session due to weather conditions. If it is just overcast, your session will continue however, in the event of rain or very windy weather, we would need to postpone your session to a later mutually agreeable date. I will keep a hawks eye on the weather in the days leading up to your session especially when rain is in the forecast, and will usually make the final decision 24hrs prior to your session date and time.

Do I have to order prints through you?

No. You will be free to use any lab of your choice for any prints you wish to be made however, should you decide to order prints anywhere else apart from via myself, I will not be held liable for any printing quality or defects. I can only guarantee premium quality prints and colour for prints and printed products ordered via myself.

Do you charge a booking fee?

For both Headshots Package 1 and Headshots Package 2, the full package amount is due when booking to secure your date.
For Personal Branding and Product Photography, you will need to pay 50% of your total quote to secure your booking, and the balance is payable at least 3 days prior to your session.

Do you accept card payments?

No. I do not yet accept card payments. All payments need to be made via bank transfer.

How soon after the session can I expect my images?

For Headshot packages, you can expect to have your private online viewing gallery within 7-10 working days. For Personal Branding photography, it may take a little longer, so expect to wait about 10-15 working days.
The turnaround time for Product Photography will depend on the project, amount of products to be photographed, amount of final images needed etc. We will discuss all this during our initial pre-session consultation.

Will my images be free from any watermarks or your logo?

All images purchased from me will be free from my logo or watermarks, the exception being when I post on social media using an image. The reason for this is to deter potential fraudsters copying or 'stealing' my images and use it as their own. Any purchased images that I provide you also in social media ready form, will be free from my logo and watermark too. I would however appreciate if you credit me as the author of any images you use on your social media wherever possible - it may potentially help me gain another client.

Who owns the copyright?

Yes yes, the copyright debate. Copyright usually remains with the author of the image (photographer). This does not prevent you from using the images you purchased wherever you wish however, it does prevent you from altering the images in any way without the written permission from the photographer.
Printing rights on the other hand, is what you receive from your photographer when you've purchased the images. This will allow you to print your purchased images at your own leisure, anywhere you like for as long as you like (usually - unless the photographer has a clause specifically preventing you from this or with some limitations).
In simple English, copyright only means you cannot edit or crop the images by adding your own style of filters etc. however, I am happy for you to use your own logo and branding alongside the image as long as I'm credited in any social media sharing of the images where possible, or when asked.
